Growing Your Gender-Friendly Vocabulary

Gender-related terminology is steadily growing in the academic world, pop-culture, and in the DEI conscious workplace. Key to understanding these terms, their usages, and the thinking behind them is, distinguishing between three key concepts: ● biological sex, ● gender identity, ● and sexual orientation. Feeling comfortable in navigating this transitioning communication landscape and cultural shift is job critical for any supervisor or manager hoping to ensure that all employees are well-supported and respected in their workplace roles.
